About the Safety Awareness Week
Jeddah Airports has launched its Safety Awareness Week at King Abdulaziz International Airport under the slogan “Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility”, inaugurated by the company’s CEO, Eng. Mazen bin Mohammed Johar, in the presence of several executive leaders and representatives of government and operational entities working at the airport.
The campaign aims to promote a culture of safety and strengthen preventive awareness across the workplace, reaffirming Jeddah Airports’ commitment to embedding safety as a shared responsibility among all employees and airport staff. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals to foster safe and sustainable work environments.
Campaign Activities & Achievements
Following the inauguration ceremony, a field campaign was conducted on the airport apron to remove foreign object debris (FOD), with the participation of the company’s leadership and operational and security teams, ensuring that the aircraft movement area remains free of any debris that could affect operational safety.
Eng. Mazen Johar said that this campaign builds upon the company’s continuous efforts to enhance occupational health and safety systems, noting that Jeddah Airports achieved remarkable safety performance results during the first half of 2025.
Sustainability & Future Commitment
On the environmental sustainability front, he added that the airport has obtained Level 2 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI), in addition to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications in environmental management and occupational health and safety systems.
Eng. Johar also extended his appreciation to all government and operational partners supporting safety efforts at King Abdulaziz International Airport, reaffirming the company’s commitment to further advancing safety standards and strengthening a secure and high-quality work environment that serves pilgrims and passengers alike.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Airports has been responsible for managing and operating King Abdulaziz International Airport since its establishment in 2022 and continues to drive the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
